By August 27, Washington suffered a crushing defeat and retreated to upper Manhattan, saving the Continental Army. The video also introduces the concept of Washington’s and his spies. Featured video topics were suggested by the Institute’s national network of teachers, all of whom have participated in its Master Teacher Seminar program.
